On an emulator, which I didn't even think was possible without patches, but leave it to the Sonic modding scene. But actually, I also discovered this game has mod support. The reason I'm making this post is because I'm sure I'm not the only one that thought it wasn't near this easy or stable. Yet despite it's age this game runs great.
And you really don't need a super good PC to pull it off either, my PC was considered a mere 'mid range gaming PC'. The Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia, is infact capable of damn near FLAWLESSLY running Unleashed, from start to finish, with very few glitches, no crashes, and a consistent 720p 30FPS at the very least if not more depending on your rig.
As it turns out, that's not even close to true. Of course, emulation exists, but until recently I had been sure Xbox 360 and PS3 emulation is still very buggy and the game is far from playable. Sonic Unleashed is like one of the most 'infamously' non rereleased Sonic game, being consider by many to be one of the series' best while having never even been released on PC and being pretty much stuck on Xbox. TL DR: Sonic Unleashed runs far more stabley and easily on the Xenia emulator than most think and various mods also let you improve it immensly to make what I consider a near perfect sonic game, all listed below.
